Terms of service
These terms govern your use of Orbital's website and services. By accessing or using Orbital, you agree to be bound by these terms and our privacy policy.
Use of serviceOrbital provides a school operations platform designed to help schools manage student records, attendance, family communication, billing, forms, and related workflows. Your school's subscription grants you access to these features for your institution's internal use only.
User Accounts
Access to Orbital is provided on an as-is basis. We maintain the platform to the best of our ability, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free operation. Scheduled maintenance and updates may require temporary service interruptions, which we will communicate in advance when possible.
School Responsibility
Your school is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, notify us immediately through the Contact Us page or your account administrator.
User accounts Schools designate administrators who create and manage user accounts for staff, families, and students as appropriate. Administrators control access levels and permissions for each user type. Account creation implies acceptance of these terms.
Each user account is for the exclusive use of the person to whom it is assigned. Sharing credentials or allowing unauthorized access to your account violates these terms. Schools remain responsible for all actions taken through accounts they create and manage.
Suspension
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or pose a security risk. Termination may result in loss of access to data, though schools retain rights to export their own data as outlined in our privacy policy.
Acceptable useYou agree not to use Orbital for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the platform. Prohibited activities include but are not limited to:
Attempting to gain unauthorized access to Orbital's systems or other users' accounts. Uploading malware, viruses, or any code intended to harm the platform or its users. Using Orbital to harass, threaten, or defame any person. Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or discover the source code of Orbital. Scraping, automating access, or extracting data beyond what your subscription permits. Using Orbital to process data unrelated to your school's operations.
Intellectual propertyOrbital and all of its content, features, and functionality are owned by Orbital, its licensors, or other providers of such material and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Your school's data remains your property. We do not claim ownership of student records, family information, billing data, or other content you input into Orbital. You grant us a license to use, store, and process your data solely to provide the service and as described in our privacy policy.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or transmit any Orbital content without our prior written permission. This includes but is not limited to copying the platform's design, features, or documentation for use elsewhere.
Limitations
Limitation of liabilityTo the fullest extent permitted by law, Orbital and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of Orbital shall not exceed the amount you paid Orbital in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or limitation of liability, so these limitations may not apply to you. In such cases, our liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
